Russia 1, the Russian state television and Kremlin propaganda organ, has broadcast a report with a simulation of a nuclear attack on European cities.
Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Paris and Bucharest. The list of cities targeted by the attacks from the Kaliningrad military base is chilling. The presenter also threatened the United Kingdom.
The programme describes the United Kingdom as Russia’s “traditional enemy” in Europe and explains how missiles launched from the Kola Peninsula could reach cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham. It also mentions the naval and military bases of Devonport, Sheerness, Chatham and Clyth located in Scotland.
The presenter claimed that “three missiles would be enough” to cause the collapse of British infrastructure.
On the British side, Rob Magowan, Deputy Chief of the British Defence Staff, said:
“If the British Army were asked to fight tonight, they would do so. No one should be under any illusions that if the Russians invaded Eastern Europe tonight, we would fight them.”
