  • The US Defense Department has announced that it awarded $7.8 billion to Lockheed Martin for the modification of its F-35 contract
  • The Pentagon said the modification adds scope to procure 127 F-35 Lot 16 aircraft
  • The additional contract takes the total deal between Lockheed Martin and the Pentagon for delivering 398 F-35s to $30 billion, the company said

WASHINGTON D.C.: The US Defense Department has announced that it has awarded a $7.8 billion contract to Lockheed Martin for the modification of its F-35 contract.

In a statement, the Pentagon said, “This modification adds scope to procure 127 F-35 Lot 16 aircraft.”

The additional contract takes the total deal between Lockheed Martin and the Pentagon for delivering 398 F-35s to $30 billion, the company said.
