Dumebi Kachikwu, African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, has urged Christians to imitate Jesus Christ in showing love to others while celebrating Christmas.

Mr Kachikwu disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

“As over two billion people across the world celebrate the birth of Christ, we are reminded of the reason for this season. His birth signified renewed hope for mankind in the possibility of a second chance,” stated the ADC presidential standard-bearer. “The birth of Christ was the beginning of a journey of love to redeem mankind. I urge all Christian faithful to remember and emulate the love of he who redeemed them because our nation is in dire need of love.”

Mr Kachikwu urged Nigerians to renew their hopes and faith in rebuilding Nigeria, saying, “because this is what our faith calls for,” adding that “the task of nation building can only be done with a heart of love and with faith and hope in a better tomorrow.”

The presidential candidate explained that Nigeria would only come alive “if everyone learned to love each other and live peaceably with one another.”
