The Student wing of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has threatened to shut down Zaria in Kaduna State over the abduction of 13 Local Government workers.

Daily Trust gathered that the victims were abducted while returning from a condolence visit.

Some of the victims were identified as Director, Education and Social Development, Mrs Deborah Mugu, and her deputy, Dalhatu Aliyu-Awai.

They were reportedly kidnapped at Kidandan, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday.

A security source said Umar Abubakar (Katako), the driver of the 18-seater bus which conveyed the staff had been released by the bandits.

He was reportedly told to go and inform the victim’s relatives that other staff members had been abducted.

He said based on eyewitness report, six bandits with AK47 had intercepted the bus 45min after it left Kaya town.

He added that after searching and disposing the passengers of valuables, the bandits ordered them into the forest.
