The Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) says scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists stockpiling foodstuffs ahead of Ramadan were killed.

The Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) says scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists stockpiling foodstuffs ahead of Ramadan were killed. Their logistic supplies were impounded in Kirawa, on Nigeria’s and Cameroon’s borders.

“It is believed the terrorists are stockpiling materials for the incoming month of Ramadan,” a spokesperson for MNJTF, Muhammad Dole, said on Monday in a statement in N’Djamena Chad.

He explained that the operation was conducted by the troops of sector 1 Cameroon in the Vretet-Zamga-Ngoshe triangle, killing several Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents.

Many terrorists were also said to have fled with gunshot wounds.

He disclosed that many materials and assorted foodstuffs were seized during the operation.

Other items seized, according to him, include one AK-47 and magazine, several pieces of ammunition of the 7.62mm special variant, 21 bicycles, one Boko Haram terrorist’s uniform, 39 bags of millet, and two bags of beans.

Mr Dole further mentioned that an intelligence analysis indicated that the items were smuggled from the borders to the Sambisa forest.

“Further exploitation of the engagement areas showed traces of blood, evidence of Boko Haram/ISWAP criminals removing corpses of their dead colleagues while two corpses of Boko Haram criminals were discovered,” he said.

According to him, the MNJTF force commander Abdul-Khalifah Ibrahim commended Sector 1 troops’ leader for displaying gallantry.
