“Our hearts are with the people who are enduring unconscionable effects from these tragic events in Ukraine.”

Beverage brands Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola have suspended operations in Russia over President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

The companies in separate statements on Tuesday, sympathised with Ukrainians, while announcing suspension of their businesses in Russia.

Coca-Cola said, “Our hearts are with the people who are enduring unconscionable effects from these tragic events in Ukraine.”

“Given the horrific events occurring in Ukraine, we are announcing the suspension of the sale of Pepsi-Cola, and our global beverage brands in Russia, including 7Up and Mirinda,” said Pepsi-Cola.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a development condemned globally, the European Union, the U.S. and a host of other nations have imposed economic sanctions on Russia, including global brands leaving the country.

Major firms like Accenture, Meta, Toyota, Google, etc., have suspended their services and operations in Russia.
