LONDON, UK – Following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Russia and his recent speech condemning Western countries, diplomatic relations between the UK and Pakistan have reached a new low as two important visits have been canceled.

The UK government canceled Pakistan’s National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yousuf’s official visit to the United Kingdom for a meeting with UK’s National Security Adviser, Sir Stephen Lovegrove.

A high-powered UK administration delegation scheduled to visit Pakistan for talks on various issues has also been called off.

Pakistan has told the UK that it is taking a neutral stance in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and has no favorites and that dozens of countries, including the UK’s strongest allies, have refused to condemn Russia’s Ukraine adventure.

According to the Pakistani source, Pakistan has decided to pursue an independent foreign policy, and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Russia and recent public statements reflect Pakistan’s new approach.
