Mr Soludo…outlawed all cash payments to the Anambra government in motor parks, roads or anywhere.

Governor Charles Soludo has suspended Anambra’s revenue collection, following his swearing-in. He and Deputy Governor Onyekachukwu Ibezim were sworn in on Thursday.

Mr Soludo was sworn in by Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, the chief judge of Anambra.

Both took their oaths of office and allegiance at the Government House in a ceremony witnessed by hundreds of people.

In his address, Mr Soludo said the new government under his leadership would focus on law and order.

He thanked the outgone Governor Willie Obiano and the leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for their support.

Mr Soludo announced the suspension of all revenue collections in the state for one month and outlawed all cash payments to the Anambra government in motor parks, roads or anywhere.

He emphasised the need for peace and called on youths, politicians and agitators to embrace dialogue as the only panacea for peace.

There was momentary disruption of ceremony due to a brawl between Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of the outgone governor and Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of Odumegwu Ojukwu.
