The police command in Zamfara is seeking the support of the Nigerian Army in its fight against bandits.

Police commissioner Kolo Yusuf of the Zamfara command has sought the support of the brigade commander, 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Gusau, Brig.-Gen. C.A. Baushe, to fight bandits.

This is contained in a statement by police spokesman Mohammed Shehu on Wednesday. He explained that the police commissioner requested the support during a familiarisation visit to the brigade headquarters.

The statement said the visit was part of Mr Yusuf’s effort to improve synergy with stakeholders and sister security agencies in Zamfara. Mr Yusuf said he was at the brigade to seek support in sustaining the war against bandits and other criminal elements in Zamfara.

Mr Baushe urged the police commissioner to sustain the “tempo” and pledged to support the police and other security agencies to restore law and order in Zamfara.
