Following the call for Nigeria’s break-up by some separatists, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday said Nigerians would require a visa to Kano State if the Biafra and the Oduduwa were allowed to separate from Nigeria. The VP made the remark during the 12th Colloquium organized to mark Tinubu’s 69th birthday.

3. Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), along with directors, men and officers at the national headquarters of the agency, in Abuja, yesterday, submitted themselves for a surprise drug integrity test after which other workers were forced to undergo the impromptu test.

4. Following threats by Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, to go after Eastern Security Network (ESN) for allegedly attacking security agents in the South East and South-South, the IPOB, yesterday, said it would not succumb to any threat or blackmail to disband the outfit. Spokesperson for IPOB, Emma Powerful, said this in a statement.

Tinubu, who made a distinction between spiritual fasting, which is voluntary, and economic fasting which is non-voluntary, spoke at the colloquium organized to mark his 69th birthday.

7. Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, yesterday, vowed to rebuild the fighting skills, capacity, confidence and morale of troops to confront security challenges bedevilling the country. The COAS stated these at the opening of the combined Chief of Army Staff first quarter conference and Nigerian Army operations retreat in Abuja.

8. The country’s oil industry was yesterday thrown into confusion as the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) sacked six of its seven Deputy Directors in a major shakeup described by stakeholders as a Tsunami.
