The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi arrived the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) on Friday, for continuation of the pre-hearing process of the petition filed by the LP challenging the victory of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the February 25 elections.

Obi arrived the court by 8:55am in the company of the National Chairman of the party and sat in the Guest seat, with Barr. Julius Abure, LP Presidential Campaign Council Chairman (PCC) Mr. Akin Osuntokun and others

Also present in Court is factional Chairman of the party, Lamidi Apapa who appears for the second time in this week, for the hearing of the petition by the LP.

The Petition marked: CA/PEPC/04/2023 has the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and the APC listed as 1st to 4th respondents respectively. The PEPC adjourned till today to enable counsels to meet and resolve issues concerning documents.

Livy Uzoukwu (SAN) representing the LP told the court that INEC were yet to give them 70%of documents they requested for, especially on Rivers and Sokoto states.

The respondents refuted the claims and told the court that the LP team walked out of their proposed meeting on Monday, a claim the LP team denied.

They told the court they were told to pay 1.5m naira to access materials from Sokoto state but expressed willingness to pay, as long as it is the official procedure.

The Justice Haruna Tsammani-led panel adjourned hearing to enable them resolve the issues.
