’No factions in our party’
Barr Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, declared on Thursday in Abuja that he was returning as National Chairman
He said that the LP was united and had no factions in its ranks.
He disclosed that the party’s suspended Deputy National Chairman, Apapa Lamidi, failed in his attempt to form a faction within the LP.
According to him, the FCT High Court in Abuja has lost jurisdiction over a restraining order petition filed against him.
At a press briefing at the party’s secretariat, the LP National Chairman said, “our appeal at the Appeal Court” had overturned a previous restraint by the FCT High Court. With his successful appeal of the order by the lower court, the appeal has technically reinstated Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party.
