41 people, mostly students, killed in attack on school in Uganda

JEDDAH

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday strongly condemned a terrorist attack on a school on Uganda’s western border, which left at least 41 people dead.

In a statement, the Jeddah-based organization offered “its deepest condolences and sympathy to the relatives of the victims and to the government and people of Uganda and wished the injured a quick recovery.”

The pan-Islamic grouping reiterated “its principled position against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.”

The OIC also renewed “its full support to the Ugandan authorities in fighting terrorism.”

At least 41 people, mostly students, were killed when five attackers linked to the Daesh/ISIS terrorist group attacked the Lhubiriha secondary school in Mpondwe near border with Congo on Friday.
