Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, widely known as M.I, and former Nigerian Eagles and Chelsea FC player John Mikel Obi, have been appointed as aides to Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State.
The nominations were announced in a statement on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Gyang Bere.
Mr Mutfwang bestowed honorary appointments upon M.I Abaga, who will serve as the Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment and Creativity, while Mikel Obi will hold the position of Adviser on Sports.
Several other individuals were also approved for various offices. Among them are Hart Bankat, appointed as the general manager of Jos Metropolitan Development Board; Christopher Sabo Yilgwan as CMD of Plateau Specialist Hospital; and Mathew Dawap as the general manager of Plateau Mineral Development Company LTD, among others.
Furthermore, Mr Mutfwang sent a list of 16 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly in Jos on Thursday.
The nominees were carefully selected from each local government area of the state and included Peter L Gwom (Barkin Ladi), Sule Musa Haruna (Bassa), Adams Bulus Leshak (Bokkos), Musa Ibrahim Ashoms (Jos East), Peter Nyam Gai (Jos North), Jatau Davou Gyang (Jos South), and Bugama Samson Ishaku (Kanke).
Others were Ephraim Usman (Kanam), Joshua Lever Ubandoma (Langtang North), Obert Gossele Nanjul (Langtang South), Caroline Pangiang (Mikang), Dongkum Grace Shwarta (Pankshin), Chrysanthus Dawam (Quaanpan), Kachollom Pyam Gang (Riyom), Noel Naanniap Nkup (Shendam), and Nyalun M. Salibu.
