The Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, his VP candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed and award-winning author, Chimamanda Adichie, attended the presidential election petition court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday.

The petitioners, Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the respondents, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bola Tinubu, and All Progressives Congress (APC) all appeared before the court to adopt their final addresses.

The lead counsel to INEC, A.B Mahmoud asked the court to dismiss the petition, as the petitioners have not proved that there were corrupt practices during the election.

He also argued that the Electoral Act did not mandate the use of IREV, only that of BVAS machine.

Speaking on the issue of 25% of FCT, Mr Mahmoud said that Abuja is the 37th state of the federation and should be treated as such, which Mr Tinubu and the APC also agreed with.
