Seun Jimoh accuses EFCC of scapegoating celebrities in Naira abuse crackdown

In a startling revelation, actor Seun Jimoh has levied serious allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), claiming that the agency is unjustly singling out celebrities in its crackdown on Naira abuse. This accusation comes in the wake of high-profile arrests, including that of popular barman Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest, and the imprisonment of crossdresser Bobrisky for similar offenses.

Jimoh, expressing his dismay, asserted that the EFCC’s actions amount to “scapegoating” and underscored the unfairness of targeting specific individuals for a widespread issue that affects a significant portion of the Nigerian population. He emphasized the prevalence of video evidence depicting Naira abuse across social media platforms, questioning why only celebrities are being held accountable.

Taking to his Instagram page, Seun Jimoh raised poignant questions, challenging the rationale behind the EFCC’s focus on public figures while seemingly overlooking others engaged in similar acts. He highlighted the psychological toll of such targeted enforcement measures on the mental well-being of Nigerian citizens, labeling the approach as “sinister” and devoid of empathy.

The actor’s outspoken criticism reflects growing concerns regarding the fairness and effectiveness of the EFCC’s strategies in combating financial crimes. As public scrutiny mounts, authorities face increasing pressure to address these allegations and ensure equitable enforcement of the law across all sectors of society.
