Farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria Confirms Mainstreaming Gender in Agriculture Summit

Abuja, Nigeria – The Farmers Aggregators Initiative of Nigeria is pleased to announce the confirmation of the Mainstreaming Gender in Agriculture Summit, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria.

The summit aims to promote gender equality in agriculture, addressing the unique challenges faced by women farmers and exploring innovative solutions to improve their livelihoods. This event is timely, considering the significant contributions of women to agricultural productivity in Nigeria, with over 80% of farmers being smallholder farmers, mostly women.

Summit Objectives:

– Empowering Women Farmers: Enhance access to finance, technology, and markets

– Promoting Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Share knowledge on sustainable practices and climate-smart agriculture

– Fostering Private Sector Engagement: Encourage investment in women-led agricultural enterprises
