For the third consecutive time in a week, the national power grid has collapsed, plunging the country into darkness.

This was announced by the Nigerian National Grid on X on Saturday. This development saw power distribution companies supply zero power across the country.

The Nigerian National Grid announced in the tweet,

“DisCo Load 08:40 a.m:

Abuja DisCo- 0 MW

Benin DisCo- 0 MW

Eko DisCo- 0 MW

Enugu DisCo- 0 MW

Ibadan DisCo- 0 MW

Ikeja DisCo- 0 MW

Jos DisCo- 0 MW

Kaduna DisCo- 0 MW

Kano DisCo- 0 MW

PHarcourt DisCo- 0 MW

Yola DisCo- 0 MW

Total: 0 MW,”

On Monday, the power grid collapsed in the evening, frustrating domestic and business activities across the nation.

Less than 24 hours after the grid collapsed on Monday, Eko Electricity Distribution Company announced in a statement on Tuesday of another system collapse.

Power outages are regular in Nigeria despite several billions of naira pumped into the energy sector.
