The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has launched an investigation into a N20 billion land scam in different parts of the state.

The commission’s chairman, Muhuyi Magaji, announced this while addressing journalists on Thursday in Kano.

Mr Magaji said 15 suspects have been arrested, including the Kano State High Court registrar, three lawyers, and four officials from the Ministry of Lands.

He explained that a former Deputy Sheriff and a court bailiff were also arrested in connection with the land scam.

“The suspects allegedly attempted to bribe operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) with N2 million, but their offer was rejected,” he said.

Mr Magaji commended the chief judge of Kano State for their support and cooperation.

He commended Governor Abba Yusuf for giving the commission a marching order to go after anyone involved in the scam.

He commended Mr Yusuf for promising not to spare anyone found guilty, regardless of their position.
