Text: Hebrews 1:1-3, John 1:1-14, Revelation 19:11-16

Dearly Beloved,

Today, we embark on an extraordinary journey to unravel the mysteries of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. As we delve into the scriptures, we’ll explore the questions: Who is Jesus Christ? What is His origin? Why must He be worshipped and feared? How compassionate is He? Where and to whom does He derive His power? Did He actually die and rise again on the third day? Will He return again to the earth and when and under what circumstances? Why should I put my hope in Him?

Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior of the world. He is the Word of God made flesh, who dwelt among us (John 1:1-14). He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation (Colossians 1:15).

What is His Origin?

Jesus Christ’s origin is divine. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-38). He is the eternal Word, who was with God in the beginning, and was God (John 1:1-2).

Why Must He be Worshipped and Feared?

Jesus Christ must be worshipped and feared because He is the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Judge of all humanity. He is the One who holds all things together, and in whom all things consist (Colossians 1:17). He is the One who will come again to judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1).

How Compassionate is He?

Jesus Christ is infinitely compassionate. He is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep (John 10:11). He is the One who weeps with those who weep, and mourns with those who mourn (John 11:35). He is the One who heals the brokenhearted, and sets the captives free (Luke 4:18).

Where and to Whom Does He Derive His Power?

Jesus Christ derives His power from God the Father. He is the One who was given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). He is the One who was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power (Acts 10:38).

Did He Actually Die and Rise Again on the Third Day?

Yes, Jesus Christ actually died and rose again on the third day. He was crucified, died, and was buried (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). He was raised from the dead on the third day, and appeared to many witnesses (1 Corinthians 15:5-8).

Will He Return Again to the Earth and When and Under What Circumstances?

Yes, Jesus Christ will return again to the earth. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1). He will come again to establish His kingdom, and to reign forever (Revelation 19:11-16). The exact time of His return is unknown, but it will be at the appointed time, when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in (Romans 11:25).

Why Should I Put My Hope in Him?

You should put your hope in Jesus Christ because He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). He is the only One who can forgive your sins, and give you eternal life (Acts 4:12). He is the only One who can provide you with peace, joy, and fulfillment (John 14:27). He is the only One who can give you a sense of purpose, and direction (Proverbs 3:5-6).

In conclusion, Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior of the world. He is the One who deserves our worship, our fear, and our reverence. He is the One who is infinitely compassionate, and who derives His power from God the Father. He is the One who died, rose again, and will return again to the earth. He is the One who deserves our hope, our trust, and our loyalty.

May we put our hope in Him, and may we live our lives in accordance with His will. May we worship Him, fear Him, and reverence Him, now and forevermore.

Amen.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You for revealing Jesus Christ to us. We thank You for His life, His death, and His resurrection. We thank You for His compassion, His power, and His glory. We thank You for the hope that we have in Him.

Help us to put our hope in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
