MOSCOW

Russia and the US have established “constructive” relations during their contacts and should continue along this path, the Kremlin spokesman said Wednesday, according to local media.

Speaking to reporters, Dmitry Peskov said Russia would continue working with the US on implementing the Black Sea Initiative, a framework initially designed to facilitate grain exports from the region.

“We are continuing our contacts with the American side. You know that these contacts are continuing very intensively,” he said, cited by Russia’s Ria Novosti news agency.

Regarding Ukraine, Peskov confirmed that Russian forces are adhering to President Vladimir Putin’s order to refrain from striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The order remains in effect and is being carried out by Russian Armed Forces, he said, adding that no new directives have been issued by the president on the matter.
