A former governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji has slammed his successor, Okezie Ikpeazu over comments that he met Abia in a gloomy state.

Recall that Ikpeazu while speaking at an event in Abuja said that any leader who criticises his predecessor is a lazy one.

Ikpeazu at the event also said that on assumption of duty, he met Abia state in shambles.

However, reacting to Ikpeazu’s comment, Orji said it is important for his successor to learn to carry his cross.

He also urged the former governor to desist from making careless statements about other people.

In a statement issued by Ifeanyi Umere, his former Liaison Officer and Senior Aide, Orji said Ikpeazu was still going against his own principles in speaking against his (Orji’s) administration.

Orji said: “Ikpeazu should once again carry his cross and take responsibility for his actions and inactions instead of looking for who to blame as governance is not necessarily about making speeches.”
