The Board of Directors of FCMB Group Plc has announced the appointment of Yemisi Edun as the Managing Director of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited.

The Board in a statement released on Tuesday said her appointment follows an end of service of the bank’s former Managing Director, Adam Nuru.

It also thanked Mr. Nuru for his years of dedicated service and wished him all the best in his future endeavours.

Prior to this appointment, the new Managing Director, Yemisi Edun was the Executive Director/ Chief Financial Officer of the bank and previously served as the acting Managing Director.

She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a Certified Financial Analyst.

Recall that Mr. Nuru in December caused controversy after allegations that he had an illicit affair with a former staff of FCMB, Moyo Thomas, and fathered her two children while she was still married to her husband, Tunde Thomas surfaced.

It was alleged that Mr. Thomas died in December from the shock upon discovering that his two children were fathered by Mr. Nuru.

The Board also said it reviewed media allegations made in late 2020 against the former MD but failed to reveal the outcome of its investigations.
