Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The resignation was conveyed in a letter personally signed by Lawal and addressed to the APC chairman of Bangshika Ward in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

In the letter, Lawal stated: “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the All Progressives Congress, APC.”

The former SGF, who served under President Muhammadu Buhari during his first term, added that he would soon disclose his next political affiliation.

“In due course, I will make public my current political affiliation, where I plan to join compatriots to work towards making Nigeria a better living place for all citizens. This resignation takes immediate effect. Please remain blessed and extend my warm regards to members of your party,” he said.

Although Lawal did not immediately name his next political destination, his next move is expected to be the coalition platform, ADC.
