Over 1 mln fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Tunisia

TUNIS, July 27 (Xinhua) — A total of 1,081,214 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Tunisia, the health ministry said Tuesday.

According to a statement by the ministry, 963,633 Tunisians have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, while 117,581 who had contracted the virus received only one dose.

A total of 2,192,193 lab tests have been carried out in Tunisia so far, according to the ministry.

The ministry reported 1,608 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, raising the total tally in the North African country to 575,002.

The death toll from the virus rose by 164 to 18,968 in Tunisia, while the total number of recoveries reached 479,032, the ministry said.
