The Nigerian Television Authority, Kaduna network, has named Governor Uba Sani as the best-performing governor in security and development.
This, according to the NTA station, was in recognition of his administration’s efforts to restore peace and promote inclusive governance across the state.
The award was presented during the station’s 2025 Customers and Awards Night, held at the NAF Club, Kaduna. The event was chaired by Aminu Jaji and attended by prominent personalities, including Shehu Sani, members of the National Assembly, Idris Bugaje, media executives and other stakeholders.
In his acceptance remarks, information commissioner Ahmed Maiyaki, who represented the governor, thanked the NTA network for the honour and said the award reflected the measurable progress recorded under Mr Sani’s inclusive leadership model.
He listed some of the administration’s achievements, including the reopening of over 500,000 hectares of farmland. Others were the revival of key markets in Birnin Gwari, Giwa and Chikun, construction and rehabilitation of more than 750 kilometres of roads, and distribution of 900 trucks of fertiliser to over 200,000 farmers.
He added that many schools, health facilities, and farmlands that had previously shut down due to insecurity had resumed operations, underscoring the impact of the governor’s peace and security initiatives.
Earlier, NTA zonal director Ishaq Abbas commended Sani for stabilising the state and acknowledged reforms introduced by the NTA director-general, which he said had improved the broadcaster’s operations and public engagement.
The chairman of the occasion, Aminu Jaji, urged Nigerians to promote national unity and responsible information sharing.
