Governor Dauda Lawal has given N160 million to security and law enforcement agencies in Zamfara as a Christmas gift.

The gift was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday in Gusau, Zamfara. The governor announced the package while touring the agencies to thank them for safeguarding Zamfara residents.

“To further demonstrate the state government’s appreciation, N160 million has been allocated across the agencies as an end-of-year solidarity package,” stated the governor.

The statement said the governor’s visit was the first of its kind in Zamfara and served as a strategic engagement to recognise the sacrifices and resilience of security personnel.

“It also aims to bolster the morale of personnel and strengthen collaboration between the state government and federal security agencies in the fight against criminality in the state.

“Nakwada conveyed the gratitude of the government and people of Zamfara to the frontline men and women battling insecurity across the state,” the statement added.

It noted that the governor also solicited greater effort to address the state’s security challenges.

“Lawal reassured them that the state government will continue to provide all the needed support required to perform their duties effectively.

“The governor also extended heartfelt condolences to the agencies, praying to God Almighty to comfort the families of the officers who might have paid the supreme price in the line of duty.

“The kind gesture is to enable them to celebrate the yuletide season with ease,” it said.

The tour covered 1 Bridge command, Nigerian Army; 207 Air Force Quick Response Group; garrison command, Nigerian Army; state police command; Nigeria Customs Service; SSS; Police Mobile 42; FRSC; NSCDC; and the Community Protection Guards.
