The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that defending champions Super Eagles will participate in the 2026 edition of the Unity Cup in London alongside Zimbabwe, Jamaica and India.

The Unity Cup is an international football tournament aimed at bringing Afrocentric and the diaspora communities in the United Kingdom together, with this year’s tournament scheduled to take place between May 26 and 30.

In a statement by NFF on Wednesday, Nigeria will begin its campaign against Zimbabwe in the first semi-final of four-team tournament on March 26. Jamaica and India will tackle each other in the second semifinal match the following day.

The winners of their respective semifinal matches will face off in the final on March 30, while the losers play in a third-place match on the same day at The Valley, home to Charlton Athletic FC.

“The Unity Cup is back again, promising to deliver an event unlike any other. Those who attended last year will know that this is more than a football match but a joyous occasion that brings people together over 3 days in a celebration of culture, rivalry, friendship and respect,” AfroSport, the organiser of the tournament said.

NFF president Ibrahim Gusau said, “The Nigeria Football Federation is pleased with another opportunity to see the Super Eagles compete at the highly exciting and entertaining Unity Cup tournament.

“As perennial champions, the Super Eagles will look to retain their title again this summer, even as they will not underrate the other participating teams viz India, Jamaica and Zimbabwe. The tournament promises to be explosive and that is the setting in which the Super Eagles thrive best.”
