The Nasarawa government has announced the selection of Suleiman Ahmed-Eko as the new Osu Ajiri of the Udege chiefdom.
Aminu Mu’azu-Maifata, the commissioner for local government, chieftaincy affairs and community development, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Ms Mu’azu-Maifata said the appointment takes immediate effect and congratulated the new traditional ruler on his elevation, wishing him a successful reign.
She explained that the selection followed due consultation with the state’s Traditional Council of Chiefs.
According to the commissioner, Mr Ahmed-Eko, a first-class traditional ruler of the Afo community, was born on June 2, 1972, and is a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa.
He is married with children.
Mr Ahmed-Eko succeeded the late Halilu Bala-Usman, a former deputy governor of the defunct Plateau, who died on May 25, 2025.
