Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt discussed recent regional developments during a meeting in Damascus on Saturday.
The talks took place at the People’s Palace in the Syrian capital, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The agency said the two sides reviewed “the latest developments in the region,” without providing further details.
It did not specify when Jumblatt arrived in Syria or how long his visit would last.
Jumblatt, the former leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, was among the first figures to visit Damascus following the ouster of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on Dec. 8, 2024.
He previously met Sharaa on Dec. 22, when the latter was serving as head of Syria’s transitional administration.
At the time, Jumblatt expressed a desire to see “Syrian-Lebanese relations return to their natural course,” according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
