Governor Abdullahi Sule has urged Muslims to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, tolerance, humility and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

Mr Sule made the call in his sallah message to the people of Nasarawa on Wednesday.

He congratulated the Muslim faithful in the state and across the world for witnessing the celebration, which he described as a reminder of obedience and total submission to God’s will.

The governor said that Eid-el-Kabir symbolises the faith and sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, urging Muslims to uphold selflessness, brotherhood and adherence to God’s commandments.

He called on Muslims to reflect on their relationship with God and fellow human beings to promote righteous living, love, and harmony in society.

“Accordingly, I appeal to us all to continue to preach peace, show love, understanding, tolerance and good neighbourliness among ourselves,” he said.

Mr Sule also urged residents to pray for pilgrims who participated in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, expressing hope that their prayers would contribute to the country’s peace, unity and development.

The governor advised Muslims to remain steadfast in observing the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and to continue seeking God’s guidance and protection. The governor also appealed to motorists and other road users to obey traffic regulations during the festive period.

He called on officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and other security agencies to intensify enforcement of traffic and security measures to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
