The Tunisian Football Federation has confirmed the appointment of Herve Renard as the new head coach of the Carthage Eagles for the remainder of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
Making the announcement on national TV on Monday, the FA said, “The president of the Tunisian Football Federation, Moez Nassari, announced that an official agreement had been reached with French coach Herve Renard for him to take charge of the national football team until the end of the 2026 World Cup.”
The appointment of the 57-year-old Frenchman came after the African team’s Group F 5-1 loss to Sweden, on Monday, at the Estadio BBVA, also known as the Monterrey Stadium.
The former Saudi Arabia coach is expected at the team’s base in Mexico to take charge of their first training session on Tuesday in Monterrey, ahead of their match day two group match against Japan on Sunday.
