The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Irele/Okitipupa Federal Constituency, Jimi Odimayo, has called on party members to remain united and work together to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.

Mr Odimayo made the call on Friday in Akure, while speaking with journalists after a reception organised for the state’s House of Representatives members.

Mr Odimayo is seeking reelection to the House of Representatives.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for their roles in the process.

“The victory is already secured, so it is time for all members of the APC to come together and work for our party, the president, me, and themselves,” he said.

The lawmaker said his relationship with other aspirants and party leaders remained cordial and described the APC as “one big family”.

He urged party members to accept the party’s decisions and unite for the progress of the party.

Also speaking, the APC candidate for Ondo West/Ondo East Federal Constituency, Michael Akintomide, appealed to aggrieved party members to remain calm and respect the party’s supremacy.

Mr Akintomide said the NWC had concluded the nomination process and produced credible candidates, urging members to ignore actions that could create division within the party.

“There is no need for agitation. The NWC has spoken, and there is party supremacy. Whatever they are saying on social media, contrary to the position of the party, should be ignored.

“Even if there are protests, don’t join them. Let us work together so that we emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains the leader of the party in Ondo State in line with the party’s constitution. The internal disagreements will not affect APC’s chances in the 2027 elections.

“All APC candidates will work together to ensure victory for the party at the polls,” he said.

Earlier, the director-general of the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), Ondo State chapter, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, thanked Mr Tinubu and the APC leadership for the successful conclusion of the nomination exercise.

Mr Asagunla said the group had continued to mobilise support for the president and the party at the grassroots since its inauguration in 2024 and would sustain this mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He called for unity within the party, urging members to close ranks in the overall interest of the APC.
