The Kano government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and redeployed 14 serving ones across ministries, departments and agencies in the state civil service.

The head of the civil service, Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday. According to the statement, the appointment is a call to greater responsibility and selfless service.

‎It directed all affected permanent secretaries to work closely with their respective MDAs to advance the government’s development agenda and improve service delivery.

It also urged the appointees to discharge their duties with diligence, professionalism, integrity and accountability.

Ms Shehu-Maimota expressed confidence in their ability to justify the trust reposed in them and uphold the core values of the Kano civil service through excellence, transparency and innovation.

The statement added that the appointments and redeployments take immediate effect, while all handing-over and taking-over processes are to be completed on or before August 12.
