Governor Ademola Adeleke has restated his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. Mr Adeleke promised to campaign for the president’s re-election in 2027.
Mr Adeleke, who won Saturday’s governorship election to secure a second term, stated this in a Channels TV interview on Sunday.
When asked if he endorsed the president based on an agreement behind closed doors, the Osun governor said, “I never reached an agreement with President Tinubu.
“My support is just based on the fact that he is a Yoruba man and he’s from the South-West. I believe that all the federal roads that he has started, I want to encourage him not to forget the South-West too.”
The governor described Mr Tinubu as his father, stating, “I will go all out for President Tinubu in 2027, big time. And when it’s time to campaign, however he wants me to come in, I will do it.”
In his victory speech, Mr Adeleke commended the president for a free and fair election.
“I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Mr Adeleke declared.
