warzo council area in Kano has sponsored 20 women for free midwifery training. The council chairman, Mani Tsoho, said this while presenting admission letters to the beneficiaries, shortly after the Gwarzo Area Security Council meeting on Tuesday.
Mr Tsoho said the initiative was part of efforts to promote education and improve healthcare delivery in the local government area.
He said giving women access to education, particularly in healthcare, would help increase the number of skilled health workers and improve community health.
The chairman commended the Kano government for prioritising education, saying investment in the sector is important for improving living standards and developing a skilled workforce.
He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies and maintain good conduct throughout their training.
