Peter Obi has unveiled ‘Obidient Connect’, soliciting donations and support from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora for his presidential ambition.

Mr Obi is running for president in the 2027 elections.

In an advert titled ‘Sign up today, donate now’, Mr Obi urged Nigerians to sign up and support ‘Obidient Connect’.

“I want to share with you something very important, a people’s platform called Obidient Connect.”

“is a tool to give structure to a passion. A way to connect, organise and stand together, polling unit by polling unit and ward by ward, to make sure that in 2027 every voice translates into action and every vote truly counts.

“I urge you to sign up at obidientconnect.com and be part of this collective effort to take back our dear country. Let us show that the will of the people cannot be ignored,” stated the presidential flag bearer of the Nigeria Democratic Congress

Among the champions of the group are Pat Utomi and Tanko Yunusa, the national coordinator of the Obidient Movement.

“The Obidient Movement is more than a voice—it’s action. NOW, with Obidient Connect, Nigeria’s first citizen-led civic engagement technology platform for Nigerian voters and diasporans, Nigerians at home and in the diaspora can unite, organise by polling units, protect every vote, and fuel the campaign through sustainable donations,” a statement by the group said.

A click on the website’s call for donations revealed that the minimum amount prospective donors could donate is $10, equivalent to N13,000. Donors could also contribute $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or any amount they wish to support Mr Obi’s presidential bid.
