Chinyeaka Ohaa, the Nigeria Democratic Congress governorship candidate in Enugu, has urged party members and supporters to remain united, steadfast, and focused.

He said embracing the NDC’s collective objectives would not only strengthen the party but also improve its chances of victory in the 2027 elections.

Mr Ohaa stated this in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ude Jideofor, in Enugu on Tuesday.

He urged party faithful to remain committed to the ideals and objectives of the NDC, irrespective of temporary challenges, political provocations, and distractions from opposition elements.

According to him, the strength of any political organisation lies in the unity, discipline, and loyalty of its members.

The governorship candidate said the NDC must not allow external influences or internal disagreements to derail its collective mission.

“We must not allow distractions, rumours, provocations, or activities from opposition parties to divide our ranks or shift our attention from the task before us,” Mr Ohaa said.

He appealed to party members to place the interest of the NDC above individual ambitions and personal differences, noting that political victory “requires sacrifice, patience, discipline, and a shared commitment”.

He further urged members at the state, senatorial, local government, and ward levels to work together and respect the party’s leadership structures.

The NDC candidate cautioned party members against unnecessary public quarrels or responding to every statement from the opposition.

“Not every provocation deserves a response. Our energy should be directed toward building our structures, engaging our people, and presenting the NDC as a credible alternative for the people of Enugu state,” he advised.

Mr Ohaa also urged party leaders and supporters to show maturity in their political engagements. According to him, disagreements within a growing political movement should be addressed through dialogue, consultation, and established party mechanisms rather than through public confrontation.

He said the 2027 election would require a united and organised NDC, adding that every member has a role to play in building the party from the grassroots.

He said, “Victory will not come from individual efforts alone, but from the collective strength of members who are prepared to sacrifice, mobilise, and remain committed to the party’s vision.”
