A federal government delegation to Zamfara State has assured Governor Bello Matawalle and Nigerians that the abducted schoolgirls would regain their freedom in no distance time.
The delegation was sent to Zamfara to commiserate with its people over the kidnap of 217 schoolgirls from the Government Girls Secondary School, GGSS, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area, a week ago.
The leader of the delegation, Senator Hadi Serika has however asked President Buhari and his cabinet to study events that led to the recent abduction in the state.
The delegation condemned the act, describing it as inhuman but assured that the federal government will take drastic measures against the reoccurrence of such violence.
The delegation claimed the federal government has designed means to ensure that security policies of the country would perfectly deal with the insecurity ravaging the entire country.
“The terrorists who have found it very profitable to abduct school children would soon be fished out following the new federal government strategy on security”
Governor Bello Matawalle while responding to the visitors, expressed satisfaction over the concern shown the state by the federal government during its trials.
The Governor urged President Buhari to deploy more military personnel to Zamfara, saying that banditry in the state seems to be going out of control, pointing out that something urgent needs to be done.
“We cannot continue to be living in perpetual fears. Something very serious must be done to end all these activities in the state”
Governor Matawalle, however, maintained that his administration’s policy on dialogue with bandits remains as that appears to be his only option to resolving the crisis.
