The executive director of the African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA) reaffirmed the group’s commitment to a sustainable future at its 22nd international congress and exhibition in Uganda.
Stressing the importance of the event, Olivier Gosso outlined the group’s pivotal role in the sector’s governance and innovation at the conference’s opening ceremony on Sunday, according to the AfWASA.
He highlighted that the group operates in 43 African countries, securing funding for governance, service quality, as well as innovation in water and sanitation, with 45 years of expertise.
Gosso called on members and partners of the group to maintain their commitment to a sustainable future for Africa.
AfWASA ICE2025 kicked off in the Ugandan capital Kampala on Sunday, and will last through Thursday. High-profile Ugandan authorities, African officials, development partners as well as delegates are engaging in discussions on water governance, financing, climate resilience, and innovation.
