The All Progressives Congress chairman in Rivers, Emeka Beke, has expressed the party’s readiness to work with Governor Siminalayi Fubara if he declares a truce.
Speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Mr Beke stated that APC was willing to join hands with the governor to help Rivers progress.
The state had been in a political crisis due to the power tussle between the governor and his predecessor, FCT minister Nyesom Wike, and among their supporters.
Mr Beke said, “I worked with Rotimi Amaechi, and he is my leader and has no link with Fubara. If he extends a hand of fellowship to APC, we will work with him and develop the state. We can’t continue fighting. Rivers is going backwards.
“You can’t have two governors in one state. Even if your own son is made governor, you should allow him to function. We have finished the politicking. It’s now time for governance.”
