Nigerian artiste Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, arrived in Lagos on Saturday, hours after posting videos from a Dubai mansion.

The singer shared a video on Instagram from a luxurious mansion in Dubai on Friday. But on Saturday, he shared another at the Lagos airport, with the caption “Eko ile,” meaning “Lagos home.”

The timing of Asake’s return comes amid military tensions in the Middle East, where the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran.

Videos circulating online show fire hitting the Fairmont The Palm Hotel in Dubai as Iran responded with its own missiles and attacked countries in the Middle East.

Dubai authorities had confirmed that four people were injured in the attacj, which has been brought under control.

Missiles and drones were also reportedly stopped in nearby countries, including Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait, which host U.S. military bases.

Videos circulating on social media showed Dubai International Airport crowded with people reportedly trying to leave.

Some travellers have posted online that they are stranded at the airport, noting that all flights from Dubai have been cancelled and that airlines have refused to operate across the Middle East.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defence, in a statement released on X, said its air defence systems successfully stopped another wave of Iranian missiles and drones aimed at the country, adding that there were no casualties or major damage.

According to the ministry, debris from the intercepted projectiles fell in parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but no injuries were reported.

Authorities said they remain on “high alert and fully prepared to respond to any threats,” saying that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a top priority.

The ministry described the attack as a “blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law” and said the UAE reserves the right to take necessary measures to protect its territory.

Officials also urged the public to rely on verified, official information and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports.

Peoples Gazette could not immediately reach Asake’s management, Giran Republic, to confirm whether the singer’s return was related to the tension in the Middle East.
