Bitcoin drops to $63,400, lowest in almost 6 weeks

ISTANBUL

Bitcoin’s price plummeted to around $63,400 on Friday — its lowest in almost six weeks.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency dropped to as low as $63,444, while it was trading just above $64,000 for a daily loss of 1.5% at 6.06 p.m. EDT, according to CoinMarketCap, a digital asset price-tracking website.

Bitcoin last saw its price drop to as low as $61,357 on May 15.

Ethereum, on the other hand, was steady around $3,515, after dipping to $3,446 earlier in the day.

Some altcoins saw their prices decline more than 4% for the day.

The value of the cryptocurrency market stood at $2.34 trillion with a 1% daily loss, while Bitcoin’s share, known as dominance, was at 54% and Ethereum’s was at 18.4%,
