President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over a security meeting, with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Security chiefs in attendance at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting is being held at the First Lady Conference Hall.

Others in attendance at the meeting include Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and the Minister of Defence, retired Maj-Gen. Bashir Magashi as well as National Security Adviser, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd).

Others are Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff; Lieut.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Naval Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ishiaka Oladayo Amoo and the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba.

Meanwhile, there have been calls for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation and impeachment due to the high level of insecurity in the country.

On Thursday, the Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Fr Mbaka said Buhari has failed Nigeria woefully and should resign now.

He also urged the Senate and House of Representatives to impeach him if he refuses to resign

Also, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis Church, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche had on Wednesday criticised Nigerian leaders, saying they are mere space occupiers with no leadership qualities.

Reacting to the numerous killings recorded recently across the country, the Cleric said “to depend on the government is to wait until you are wasted”.
