A police sergeant has been charged with the murder of his 35-year-old wife after he allegedly stabbed her to death during an apparent domestic dispute.
“SAPS was summoned to a residence in Bardale, Mfuleni at around 01:30 [on Thursday] where the body of the sergeant’s 35-year-old wife was discovered,” police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said.

“It is believed that she was stabbed during a domestic-related dispute.”
Sergeant Zamekile Nyobole, who was stationed at the Lansdowne police station, appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court in connection with the incident on Monday, according to the National Prosecuting Authority’s Western Cape spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila.
He is in custody and the case has been postponed to 1 July for a bail application.
