Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has stressed the importance of religious harmony and prayer to sustain development in society.

Mr Sanwo-Olu spoke at the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Nigeria, hosted by the Our Saviour’s Ministries Church, Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday.

Mr Sanwo-Olu said Lagos would continue to promote religious harmony, which he said the state enjoyed over the years.

The governor described religious coexistence as an enabler of development and encouraged people to continue praying for the state and its leadership to sustain its people-oriented policies.

According to him, given the level of peace in Lagos, the administration has improved transportation, youth development, infrastructure, health, and other pro-people projects.

The supreme head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Nigeria, Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale-Alogbo, charged worshippers to sacrifice, serve, and dedicate themselves to sustain the church’s heritage and positively impact society.

Mr Adewale-Alogbo described individual and collective dedication and sacrifice as the bedrock of societal progress and missionary works.

He stated that previous leadership of the church laid a solid foundation and urged worshippers to close ranks and make sacrifices to continue upholding the Church’s heritage of service and missionary work.

The All Progressive Congress’s chairman in Lagos, Cornelius Ojelabi, a special guest at the event and member of the church, said that the C&S University, known as Moses Orimolade University, was a project very dear to the Church.
