The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians to use the occasion of this year’s Christmas to promote and strengthen the bond of love and unity.

The party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, also urged Nigerians to care for one another without regard to creed, class or divisive considerations.

Mr Ologunagba said such a relationship would help Nigerians in the face of the prevailing economic hardship.

He said Christmas, the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, served as a refreshing reminder of God’s eternal love for mankind.

The party spokesman said the occasion also served as God’s willingness to grant divine solutions to every challenge of life, including the problems Nigeria faced as a nation.

Mr Ologunagba urged citizens not to give up hope and not to allow their sufferings to make them lose sight of the blessings of Christmas.

“Nigerians must, therefore, stand by and share with one another at this time so that the joy of the season can spread to all.

“The PDP wishes all Nigerians a merry Christmas,” Mr Ologunagba said.
