Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and two-time presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has allayed fears among opponents by stating that his visit to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari is not political.

Recall that Atiku was at the Kaduna residence of the former president on Friday, April 11.

The former vice president visited Buhari in the company of Nasir El-Rufai and Aminu Tambuwal, ex-governors of Kaduna and Sokoto States.

Speaking to journalists after the visit, Atiku said, contrary to speculations by many, their visit was not political.

He noted they were in Buhari’s residence on a courtesy visit made in the spirit of Sallah.

“We came here on a courtesy and Sallah greetings visit to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“There is a plan for the major political parties to come together and form a strong opposition, but it is not part of this visit,” Atiku said.
