The U.S. government has said corrupt high-profile Nigerians can be denied visas in its efforts to tackle graft and promote accountability.
The U.S. Mission in Nigeria disclosed this via its official X page on Monday.
“Fighting corruption knows no borders or limits on accountability. Even when high-profile individuals engage in corruption, they can be barred from receiving U.S. Visas,” U.S. government said.
The position follows President Donald Trump’s stringent visa policies to check the influx of immigrants into the country. Over 2 million illegal aliens have been deported from the U.S. since Mr Trump assumed office for the second term according to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
