The chairman, All Progressives Congress, Ebonyi State chapter, Stanley Okoro-Emegha has urged politicians in the state to emulate Chinedu Ogah in the provision of palliatives and scholarships to their people.

Mr Ogah represents Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Mr Okoro-Emegha said this during the distribution of Mr Ogah’s empowerment palliatives on Saturday at Ohatekwe Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area.

He said such level of interventions was unprecedented in the state and urged Mr Ogah not to relent in such deeds.

He said, “When others are going to relax, you will be entering one office or the other looking for what to get for your people. Thank you for making APC proud and be assured that we are watching. May God continue to open doors for you as you provide more democracy dividends to the people. Continue following in the footsteps of the governor (Francis Nwifuru) who has set the pace for the rapid development in the state.’’

Mr Ogah in his remarks said he owed his constituents effective representation.

He stated, “Governor Francis Nwifuru spent his resources to make me the deputy speaker but before it could be achieved, the process was concluded. The governor ensured that all National Assembly members from Ebonyi State are chairmen of committees and provided them with vehicles to make our work easier.’’

During the occasion, the lawmaker provided 5000 bags of fertilisers and 300 bags of rice seedling to the farmers.

He added, “We are sponsoring the education of 200 orphans. We have paid the West African Examination Council fees of 1500 students and the National Examination Council (NECO) fees of 1,168 students from the constituency. We have declared free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board registration for eligible and willing students from the constituency.’’

Wife of the state governor, Mary-Maudlene Nwifuru, commended Mr Ogah for the empowerment programme and urged the beneficiaries to utilise them.

“You have blazed the trail in effective representation and be assured of the people’s support for making positive impacts on their lives,” she said.

Representatives of WAEC and NECO at the event confirmed the payment of the examination fees for the students by Mr Ogah.
